Van Driver Safety – Addressing the Human Factors of Risk

Speaker: Rebecca Ashton, Head of policy and research for IAM RoadSmart

The growing number of vans on the nation’s roads means a growing number of new van drivers. What are the challenges they face, and what can employers do to ensure that van drivers – many of whom are young or inexperienced – remain safe on the roads?

Rebecca's presentation will look at how levels of van use have changed over the 2-3 years and why vans are involved in a disproportionately high number of other-road-user deaths.
